The 1st Hexham Scout Group is the only Scout Group in Hexham, so unfortunately we are always unable to cater for every child who wants to join Scouting in the town. However we are currently running under the Groups potential capacity. this is mainly due to a lack of adults prepared to come forward and become trained leaders. When at full capacity, the Group could run Two Beaver colonies, Two Cub Packs & One Scout Troop.
Currently we have One Beaver Colony,One Cub Pack & the Scout Troop
In order to allow the smooth transition of children through the three sections, we have to operate with a maximum number of children in each section. The opening of another Beaver Colony & another cub Pack would greatly help us to increase the number of children who can become group members & enjoy the wonderful opportunities that Scouting can offer.
Vacancies
At present we have vacancies for adult leadership across the following sections

Miniumum Two adults to set up a new Beaver Colony Section leader & Assistant)

Minimum Two adults to set up a new cub pack (section leader & Assistant)

Section leader (Scout Leader) to run the Scout Troop

Assistant Scout leaders to assist in running the ScoutTroop

An adult prepared to act as a Group Fundraiser to source avenues of funding.

Waiting list
At present we have a waiting list of children who cannot get into the Group due to this shortage of leaders. if you think you can help, we would love to hear from you.

We will place your child on the Beaver, Cub or Scout list depending on their age. You will automaticalluy receive an e mail confirming your child has been registered with us.

On receipt of your childs application they will be given a waiting list reference number

Your child will be placed on the section waiting list that is relevant to their age

If they become too old for this section before getting a place, they will be transfered to the next section in the relevant position according to their reference number. e.g. ref no 20 would enter the next section waiting list above all other reference numbers higher than 20.

We will make every effort to find your child a place in the Group
